Heya,

***************

Update: SOLD.

***************

Up for sale is a bundle of 1D's. I'm selling this only as a bundle/package and will not part it out. Specifically in this bundle is a Canon 1D classic (the original!) and a Canon 1D Mark II (the 2nd original!), with the original battery charger and three batteries (which are aftermarket and not 15 years old, these are newer batteries purchased in the past 2 years and hold good charges).

Camera Body Sale Camera Model: Canon 1D classic & Canon 1D Mark II

Body Condition: 7/10 conservative on both. Understand these are old bodies. Still in great shape with only minor scuffs and dings. LCD's are scratch-free and bright and work very well. Buttons are all solid, nothing loose. All the ports are original and present and still attached. The CF card slots are perfect (no pin issues) and these bodies accept new CF cards no problem. The top displays work perfectly, the LED back light works perfectly. No cracks nor damage. Anything you can see is superficial and just a scruff from age and general use from the early 2000's.

Number of Shutter actuations: Unknown and nothing reads them accurately except Canon. I bought the 1D Mark II from KEH. I bought the 1D classic here on POTN 2nd hand. Let's just assume they're high counts due to age. These are no spring chickens, please understand you're looking at a 1D classic & 1D Mark II that are from 2001 and 2004.

Sale Includes: Canon 1D classic. Canon 1D Mark II. Canon battery charger. Three aftermarket recent batteries. Canon body caps. I do not have the original boxes.

Price: $350 $330 $315 shipped & paypaled for the bundle. SOLD for asking price.

Payments Accepted: Paypal confirmed.

Shipping Methods Available (Ships From): Florida

Shipping Available To: Continental 48 States of USA. No international (sorry!)

Best Contact Method: PM, or here.

Feedback: I'm in the feedback thread. I'm a regular around here.

Reason for selling: I got my taste for the 1D series. They are wonderful bodies. Even though they are aged bodies, they are still relevant cameras and I just wanted to get a feel for the speed, the build, and the "look" of the old APS-H sensors from back then. They perform every bit like I thought, and more. I favor smaller bodies overall it seems, going out with my kid and when birding, so instead of them collecting dust, I'd rather they gather photons with gusto for someone else who wants to play with a couple of 1D's on a budget. Great for a duo setup of fast mean machines.

Notes: The batteries hold good charges, but understand you have to refresh them every now and then, they are NiMH, not Lithium. I will refresh and charge the batteries before shipping them out to you (I tend to just do it over night as the refresh and recharge process takes a while, much longer than lithium, so that you can go right to playing and shooting). These are not ancient batteries, so they perform well still. I run them until they are are empty/discharged, and then recharge them. If I let them sit too long, I refresh and then recharge. Just a rule of thumb for the next user if you're not already used to this kind of battery. These cameras are both already set for back button focus and shoot in RAW and use center point with expansion and have the ISO expanded settings enabled. You will want to read up or watch a YouTube video on how to use the menus, the old 1D menus are not as simple or easy (it requires two buttons to operate, one is a hold the other is a press or turn), I'm used to it, but if you're never used an older 1D, you will want to take a minute to familiarize yourself with how to actually use the settings. Everything else is straight forward (custom functions, AF, etc). Everything works as it should, so if you can't get something to work, it's due to the user not knowing the controls. Let this be a fair warning to someone who is not willing to take the time to learn to use the menu system appropriately!

Good deal! I miss my 1D. For a 4 megapixle body it takes amazing photos. I have a 16x20 of my son hanging in the living room I was randomly able to grab from him thanks to the FPS on it!

Best of luck. Wish I could sell my 5D's because I'd probably pick these up lol

Colors out of my original 1D were truly amazing.

Many fond memories of this work horse....

Two cameras, one in each hand, each doing 8 FPS. Try some 1D's on the cheap!

Yes sir, the 1D classic synch's at 1/500s. Kind of cool for strobists. I used it a bit just for fun and it is quite interesting for wide aperture flash when indoors with higher ambient light, and of course, relevant when outside and using a strobe/flash with any aperture and enough shutter to both freeze mild action & blend flash. I always wondered why they didn't maintain a higher sync potential on later 1D's or any of their cameras for that matter...
