Thanks!

I've made a few PP changes based on the input.

1. Tried to fix the highlight blow-out and vignetting. No vignetting was applied in PP, may have had a couple filters stacked on the lens...

3. Straightened, warmed, and lowered exposure slightly.

4. Tried a mono conversion (first time ever!)

No.1 - did you try cropping out some of the foreground?

No.4 - B&W doesn't do anything for this image for me. At least in the colour version, I can tell that it's snowy, rather than just dirt. It might be better with a bit more tone - try lowering the black point/shadows.

Cheers, Damien

1 - I gave it a try, but personally I like it as a landscape with the cows as a smaller part of it.

4 - I agree. Prefer the colour, even if it isn't a terribly interesting composition.

Well done, from another Calgarian!

Honestly, as a former Vancouverite, I have a hard time being inspired by prairie landscapes. I'm not excited about No.5, but I think the others are really great. I find them truly inspiring.

Hey thanks :-) I love living out here, but it's a challenge to capture the atmosphere. Sometimes wonder if prairies really are difficult or if the grass just looks greener on the other side...

Nope, I think it really is much more difficult, but it can be done.

This guy is phenomenal. He also shoots for National Geographic. He lives in MN, take a look at either the Latest Work gallery or the Prairie gallery, might inspire you.

Cool, thanks for the tip. I'll have a look - and hopefully be inspired!
