Did a chase to Cleveland last weekend for some rarities one of which was the Black-headed Gull. I got a glimpse of the bird for the life list but then lost the bird. When the Manatowoc came downriver a whole raft of gulls rose and among them was the larger Black-headed Gull seen here in the middle of the picture heading right to left.

Distinguished from Bonapart's Gull by size, black underwings, and red bill.

This is the same shot. One original and one cropped. I like the uncropped with all the motion and for me the memory.

Bird strong.

Nice shot-I have a few similar photos. Terrible picture for whatever reason, but I can't discard due to rarity. One especially, found what might be an albino wild turkey west of my house. Bad light, long distance. If I crop it resolution is similar to your crop, but until I get a better version of the same picture it stays. I like the uncropped shot too. With the edge of the ship and the crowd of gulls it really shows their adaptability.
