Just ordered a 5DS R

It should be here in 3-5 days. It took me a while to decide as much of my photography is wildlife and autofocus is an important issue for me.

Happy new toy!
I have tried one and was rather impressed! A far more versatile camera than you would think.
Unfortunately it didn't quite fit my needs but a fine camera nonetheless! Hope you have some nice glass for it to make the most of.


Life is for living, cameras are to capture it (one day I will learn how!).

Well since the AF is virtually identical to the 1Dx and the 7DII I really hope that it is good enough! I would like a 5DS for shooting airshows with the 600mm. Same linear resolution as the crop options, for aggressive cropping, I am often down to just using a 15×10mm section of sensor while shooting at 600mm. 2.56× more sensor area to use before having to zoom out, whats not to like? Oh yes about £3000, when my body budge is probably closer to £300:cry: All the other stuff like frame rate etc would be fine too.
