Has anyone heard of this brand? I cannot find much on it.

I haven't heard of it- but it looks like B&H used to sell it- specs are still there. Decent support- but too short for me :-(

This tripod is available at Walmart for about $100.00, so do ignore the "$470.00 list price" B.S.
It's on AMAZON for $60.00 as well.

Brunton is known for making really crap cheap binoculars and other such accessories.

Still, for a small portable CF tripod this may not be a bad deal. I'd want to look at one first hand though.

beware of uber cheap CF tripods.

I've bought one as an "Aways in car" type of deal, not this bruton one, but another and there were some issues. Head wobbles, legs needed to be tightened really hard to prevent slippage, that sort of nonsense. So instead of using for a tripod, I disassembled the tripod and used each leg as a walking stick. Not a total loss.

Well, we'll see what kind of deal it is. I decided to give it a shot. I'll report back after I get it. I figured that at $60, what the hell.

I would be wary of botach btw they are notorious in the gun world for taking money and eventually sending the product not very user friendly to deal with most people try to avoid them

I'll see how it goes. It's already shipped and due here tomorrow. I've been active in the gun world, and Botach has a rep like most places on the net. Some people love them, some hate them. I take everything on the internet with a grain of salt. If I were to buy a $1000 Sig, I would be a bit more cautious. Even then, there is credit card protection, so I'm pretty well covered.

Updates?

I received the tripod yesterday. I will try to get a short review up tomorrow. I'm heading for work, so don't have time now. I will say, I'm pretty impressed, so far.

My uncle received his yesterday as well, Im surprised by the quality. For the price its honestly awesome. Its sturdy feeling and looks great. The head is extremely simple, I don't think I would feel comfortable with more than maybe 5Lbs on it truthfully. Its a great buy though :)
