Hrm,

This would be a really great camera for someone who exclusively hand-held everything. At your price, accessories and shutter life, it should have already sold. It's a great camera. I'd love to have it myself even.

But I think the lack of mounting is a big turn off. Have you considered getting it filled & retapped yourself? Have you explored where that can even be done and what it would cost? I'd be interested.

If not, all good, free bump :)

Very best,

No I haven't, I replaced it with a 1Ds3 that I got for a steal and it just sits in a gear draw now.

For anyone concerned about the tripod socket, it's a super easy repair. I had to do it on my own 1Ds2 years ago. What you need is a 1/4-20 helicoil kit which you should be able to get for $15-$20 at any auto repair store or on ebay. May need to get a tap wrench if one isn't supplied with the kit. You just drill out the existing threads to the diameter specified in the kit, tap the hole, and then install the coil, takes all of 10 minutes and it will be as good as new.
