Took this shot last Spring. I didn't think it was macro enough to show in the Macro forum.

We have an old wooden play-set in the backyard that has become the local Carpenter Bee tenement housing structure. The territorial air combat shows that they engage in during the Spring can be fun to watch.

70D & 24-105mm @ 98mm, f4, 1/1000, ISO500

Too funny! I was JUST talking to a friend of mine about using a racquetball racket when I was a kid to "battle" the carpenter bees that infested my parents' back deck. The racquetball racket was good because it was woven a little tighter that other rackets. However, the older I get the more I am a "live-and-let-live" kinda guy!

I know me too - HOWEVER, these buggers dig up to 10" holes in the framing of your house so Im considering it this year - then again ohh look at the little pollinator I should just let him live. Torn. Haha
