Formatted on my D750, then shooting, my PC (Windows 7 premium) will not open the card. It gives a message saying the card must be formatted. I did format it in the PC, took photos, and it did then open. I would rather format it in the camera, for that probably has some benefits.
I would think the 750 would be compatible with this PC.

Any Ideas?

I'd be looking for a new card.... it's just not worth pfaffing around trying to get cheap stuff like cards working when it goes wrong. If there aren't photos on the card that you need, then best put it aside.

some fairly old canon camera stuff, canon lenses, Manfrotto "thingy", and an M5, also an M6 that has had a 720nm filter bolted onto the sensor:

Well that's a assumption, last time i bought 2 Kingston 32GB 90mb/s read 80mb/s write no cheap cards and they had the same problem
with my PC and card reader . Other brands did just fine except the Kingstons.
Only when i used my tablet or laptop (direct intern sd slot) they were shown also on windows 7, or when i connected the camera direct with the PC they were shown.
I think it's a problem with the card reader/ software.

In an instance like this, and many more, the first thing I would be doing is checking for up to date drivers and if a sophisticated reader is being used, check the manufacturers site for the possibility of a firmware revision.
