That turned me off from the service (though it might be great for personal use).

It is slow, but if you're already an Amazon Prime member for the free shipping and video stuff, then it's a cheap way to have an off-site archive. After uploading about a quarter TB and seeing it take more than a week, I'm going to just put selected files there.

I like big cinema cameras and I can not lie

Amazons response has been that archiving Images commercial or personal is ok. The TOS is referring to using the backup service to distribute images for commercial use. So you can not backup your images then give a client access to those images for review or download. They are only concerned with operating a photography business with their service. Instagram

SYS Cream of the Crop More info | Jan 17, 2020 11:34 | #12 What happens to all your uploaded photos on Amazon Prime Photo when you don't continue with the Prime membership? I suppose you won't have any access to them but they'd be all there when you decided to rejoin the membership? In other words, Amazon Prime Photo will not delete all your uploaded photos while you're no longer the Prime member?

As long as you are below that, you do not need to be a prime member to store, access or share photos. Anything above that and you will need a prime subscription". (With Prime, you get unlimited image files storage) I assume that anything over that limit would be deleted (Not sure what they will delete. Oldest ones first?). As long as they are secondary backups (i.e. you have others locally or elsewhere), you would have time to upload elsewhere if you are cancelling Prime. Instead of being deleted, perhaps they would just not be accepted for upload until you started paying for Prime? GEAR LIST
