I am trying to figure out how to reduce the noise that is produced by using high ISO? I have both LR5 and PS6.

If I get in right in camera, I have less work to do. When in doubt, overexpose a bit. And when you sharpen, only sharpen the important bits - not the noise in the rest of the image. FrankC - 20D, RAW, Manual everything...

Expose properly (which may mean over expose slightly, then pull back exposure in post). Under exposure causes more noise. Dan Marchant
