Not sure why, but call me JJ.
I used to hate math but then I realised decimals have a point.

Just tried out my Lumix FZ72:-(:-(:-( oh dear the quality compared to my 7d/250 STM, i set it up used the sweet spot of the lens and shot in RAW and took about 30 different pics including my airways shots, some of the cat and other bits and pieces, i downloaded into LR5.7 but the files are just plain Horrible.....

Sorry to hear it, but you shouldn't be surprised if you read the reviews of this camera. Although it has a tremendous zoom, the IQ is, perhaps not unexpectedly, severely compromised.

Incidentally, you never commented on the comparative tests of the FZ1000 vs. the 60D with the 55-250STM that I carried out in response to your post in the "Panasonic" forum. In case you hadn't noticed, the FZ1000 did extremely well.:-)

Sorry about that i was a bit taken up with selling my 7d/250 STM on another site, i do like the look of the Fz1000 files, but what attracted me to the FZ72 was a) being a Free prezzie from a friend, and b) the lens length for my aircraft on airways as with the length of the lens in the fz72, it would compromise me needing to do Massive crops with my 7d/250 STM.

But TBH the files from the 7d/250 STM even cropped down to 1000p are just miles over what i am seeing sofar from the FZ72, it is early days though its only been in my hand for a few hours, and possibly adjusting the pic styles and the zoom might help- i hope?

Here's a pic strait from a RAW just adjusted with a little bit of basic editing, its zoomed in about 2/3 in the cam to about 1100mm eqv lens length, this is supposed to be the seet spot of the lens?
