You can take just one camera and lens back to any point in time and photograph for the day, no one can see or hear you and you can bring the camera and photos back to the present with you.. Were and when would you go?

Friday, November 22, 1963, Dallas, Texas with a good telephoto lens and capture the assassination of JFK - a moment in time that has been subject to much investigation and speculation.

Not sure of the date or time. The day Hitler conceived Mein Kampf in his jail cell.

Well, there are a few... The real birth date of Jesus Christ, Hawaii December7, 1941,
Aboard the USS Missouri on September 2nd 1945.

And I would love to get a shot of this

I could possibly do all of that with my 5DMII and 24-105. I would probably need a 70-300 for the attack on pearl harbor though.

Quoted to preserve the very humorous choice of (misspelled) words. The government that document signed into existence has been decelerating ever since. Now it is almost completely incapable of movement.

Wow. You guys are more sophisticated than I am. You've really thought about this. I was just thinking that going back far enough to see some dinosaurs would be nice. Or maybe to a time when I had a cool wardrobe.

Say, if we went back to a given time what could we shoot with? Could we use the technology of the day? I'd go back and shoot in Kodachrome.

For me, going back to a time and cool wardrobe wouldn't be in the same sentence. Wide lapels in bright plaids were very popular in the 70's. :(

Heya,

I'd probably hang out with a 5DsR and 100-400 II or D810 and 80-400 VR G FX with mount system, a few miles away from where Meteor Crater was created, the day of it's creation, in Arizona. Catching that thing in the atmosphere, blocking out the sun, entering the atmosphere as a holy fireball, and the impact, from a few miles away, would be witnessing the forces of creation. Could have gotten all crazy with medium or large format stuff. But really, I'd want the fast system and FPS to suite, since I wouldn't want to miss anything with poor AF of larger format systems, while getting a ton of resolution, and decent dynamic range, to hopefully recover stuff as I would imagine I wouldn't get exposures perfect (hah!) witnessing something like that.

Oh, and something smaller in the hotshoe filming it.

Very best,
