Digital Camera Speed Challenge #403

Stimulus

Stimulus. Pull out those dictionaries, and get those cameras a clicking. There are many forms of stimulus we encounter virtually every moment, and all you need to do is document such. Also, don't be afraid to go "abstract", or any other "envelope-pushing" interpretation (but for this challenge, keep it work safe and somewhat clean). You all should have a field day with this topic, so get clicking!!!

This challenge begins when posted, and will end at 6:00 p.m. Pacific time Saturday, 6 February 2016. Winner of this challenge will be announced shortly thereafter.

Standard Rules apply:
Photo Submissions:

1. Camera: Any Digital Camera, but NO Cell Phones.
2. Time: Any on-topic photo taken at any time is eligible, although photos that have won other competitions should NOT be entered.
3. Size: Please visit Image Posting Rules.
4. Post Processing: Do whatever you like and the host will decide if it works.
5. Posting: ONE PHOTO per photographer in each challenge.
Camera model & lens used. Post brief EXIF data including ISO, shutter speed and aperture used.
6. Commenting: No commenting during challenge. When the posting is closed and a winner has been declared, comments can be made in this thread.
7.
Keep it clean, and both Family and Work safe.
8.
Have questions, PM me.
9. Have FUN!

One challenge every week, on the following schedule:

* New Topic - After winner is declared.
* Posting Starts - Right after topic is announced.
* Posting Ends - 6:00 p.m. Pacific Time Saturday, 6 February 2016.
* Winner from this competition decides the theme of the next one (and judges it for a winner) after this competition is closed.

Wow, thanks Jason! This was a tough theme. That black coffee mug shot was the "black on black" shot I'd been wanting to do for a while. I was glad I found a way to incorporate it into the challenge. I confess, getting that shape in the "steam" was lucky. The steam from the water itself wasn't strong enough, so I used incense sticks and waved them around over the top of the mug & then quickly moved my had before the smoke moved away.

Don, I liked your photo too. Unfortunately that is too true for some folks.

Phil, I laughed on yours! Like your cat, mine do love the catnip! :-)

Trevor, I liked the car idea!

Next challenge is up. Good luck & have fun!

Congratulations, Lisa! I just couldn't think of anything to fit the challenge this week, and in any case couldn't imagine how I could beat that coffee mug.

Stimulus; it could be a scenic view, the touch of a loved one, a musical instrument, a canopy of trees, an ocean, a jet aircraft at takeoff, the purr of a cat, the love of a dog, the smell of pine cones, a medium rare rib-eye steak, etc, etc, etc.

Now, some words:

Lisa: Good, simple straightforward photography, tells the story in a well organized and composed photograph. Good use of lighting, as well. Nitpick; I would have liked to see more steam and not so cut off as well.

Don: Another example of a well organized and composed photography, perfect lighting and subject presentation. Nitpick; too much available information on your labels. Label-less containers would help focus more attention on the subject itself.

Phil: That cat is fried! But where is the drool? My cats drool all over the place. Nitpick; watermark...just my thing.

Trevor: I totally agree; excitement behind the wheel. Too me, that means "hands-on" experience between man and machine. Less non driving excitement controls (volume, phone, etc.), more steering wheel, Ford symbol and even a hand in the driving excitement position. Me, I would have shot a gear shift, or a clutch engagement. You get my drift. Nitpick; watermark...just my thing.

The above are just my thoughts, and I hope they are constructive as they are meant to be.

Thank you all again for participating.

I totally understand why you would use a watermark, I just do not like them. It's a "me" thing.
