Sorry to change the subject. I have a few questions.

1. How do these bodies fit in an average camera bag with or without a lens on? I use the basic back pack style.

2. I don't like neck straps and never warmed up to grips but I can adjust if I have to. I have been using a Camdapter wrist strap for about 10 years. I have been looking around for something similar for a 1D body. Campdater does seem top cater to this body style. Anyone using something similar? I have been cruising the web and there are products available but I like to get known and proven products.

Thanks in advance.

Comdapter does not list 1D bodies in the compatibility chart but I did find this when I opened Pro Strap page.

Camdapter ProStraps will fit Pro Bodies like the 1Ds series and popular DSLR's with battery grips installed.

I've never had one. I'l get the dimensions for a grip and figure it out. Most bag sites have a bag finder where you enter dimensions. This is not a really big deal but it is like buying a new boat. You just don't get the boat. You need a trailer, life jackets, paddle, etc. It all adds up at the end of the day and they don't give the 1DX II away. I'm on a fixed income these days :-)

For reference here is my gripped 5D3 with a 70-200 2.8 IS II in my Lowepro 450AW backpack. I can fit two gripped full frame bodies and a few lenses, and accessories, in there without issue. Bonus, it all fits in the standard overhead compartment of an airplane.

I use the older Canon E1 strap for both my 1DX and (gripped) 7D2. They take a little adjusting until you get it just right and then I find that they work very well - certainly the best that I have tried.
Additionally you can still use a neck strap (very handy sometimes) - I use either LowePro or Matin quick detachable Neoprene straps.
P.S. I only recently bought my Matin strap, I was impressed as they really spread the load nicely - so impressed that I have just bought another one!
I know you don't like straps, neither do I - but often they are a necessary evil.

Life is for living, cameras are to capture it (one day I will learn how!).

Oil? Looks like the 1DX II is a fracking disaster of a camera. I just knew it.
