Well you know we can't discuss religion or politics here (thankfully) but only a blind man
can not see das Welt is changing and quickly.
At my age I really don't give a shi#$ but for you younger folks, best pay attention.
That said I'll be pre-ordering the 1DXii soon :)

Tonight we had this to try out;

IMAGE: https://scontent-syd1-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xtp1/v/t1.0-9/fr/cp0/e15/q65/11701096_10209044198851227_4622195039370423992_n.jpg?efg=eyJpIjoidCJ9&oh=2c137524e937eb4bcead9e4c3dfc9a54&oe=5769103C

The shutter at full speed was pretty ridiculous. In other respects it felt pretty much the same as the 1Dx (for which, my friend was quite relieved, seeing as we were comparing it to his 1Dx bought in December last year)

we couldn't save any photos from it.

"The younger generation needs mentoring and training, so you can't just wash your hands and walk away."

At least that is what we discuss on Sundays. :)

There are definitely things falling into place for the big changes heading our way. But hey, we will have cameras that can see 20fps and shoot in the dark with no ISO noise, thus ISO will be a thing of the past, eye control for focus so the camera knows where you want focus with almost infinite selectable AF points, 4K rear displays, new battery tech that allows us to shoot 5K shots on a charge, etc so good for us!

Did you by any chance try the silent mode 5fps ? is there much difference .

Are you talking about restrictions re: AF with T-cons or restrictions re. MFD?
Because the latter is very common practice among birders.

I have never heard of using an extension tube on a 500F/4 v/s a TC. She said she doesnt use TC's only extension tubes

Whats the advantage/disadvantage

Met her at Yellowstone and we were pointing at the same grizzly

People use the smallest extension tube to get around the issue that some TCs don't attach well or work well with certain lenses or stack with other TCs. It is also a trick on how you can mount an EFS lens to a FF body, etc. Extension tubes basically become converters/adapters, but affect your infinity focus.

Thanks Teamspeed.

Well that's not very quiet at all, very disappointing I mostly shoot birds so 2 things I would have liked are missing.

Quiet shutter and around 30mp .

I will Waite and see how the 20mp perform along with the new AF before I commit to buy one as im not seeing much over the 1dx (don't use video )

Rob.

 Well, if it's not the sound of the shutter of the paid photog in a quiet church, it would be the sound of obnoxious beeping from guests and their cellphones. :)

I used the ex tube here on the last shot, the first 2 are 1200mm then 1680 mm with a 5dsr .

I don't think 20mp of the 1dxmkII would show the iss as well but if I get one I would of cause have a go :)

hmm, my first impression is that the person speaking is talking at a low volume and the audio gain is cranked up on the video camera. If that's the case it probably isn't the best representation of the shutter sound.

if you go back to some of the early videos where they are only demonstrating the full speed FPS the sound didn't seem so loud.
