I used to think shutter sound loudness would be an issue with the birds I shoot, even read about the 1Div
scaring off flocks. For one reason or another I can machine gun the shutter on either the 7Dii or the 1Div
and the hawks I'm currently working with could care less....maybe just because they can't see me? The other
day I'd moved the blind and I was less than 12 feet from a large female-she kept looking intently but the
sound never triggered her to flee.......one glimpse of any human part or piece and they're like rockets.

I find the noise a big problem with most birds, when after barn or short-eared Owls they come along a bank or ditch really nice in a straight line ( Im well camouflage ) as soon as I fire the 1dx they veer off .

The 7dmkII and my 5DSR on silent lets them come far closer even so Im working on a blimp at the moment .

Birds are super-expensive creatures. They demand lotso $$$ to take their pictures. ;)

this was posted, notice how the background noise goes away when the shutter is pressed only to return in a half a second ... I don't trust that as an accurate test.

Depends on news vs profit and which country you're shooting in.
