So far only my purchase confirmation. No hurry, so far the 1D4 and 7Dii are satisfying....I'm sitting in a blind as I type with the 7Dii and was thinking we have Iceland in May and the 1DXii won't even be going.

Man guys and gals...this sure is tough waiting. I wish there were more blogs, articles, and videos being released. I'd love to see even more about this beast. We still have at least 2 months of waiting left!

I haven't chatted much in this thread, but I've been following it closely. I am #3 on the list with the store I pre-ordered from and should be getting the camera in their first batch.

Even if it's just tightly-controlled information from Canon, I want to see more while we wait!

I feel the same. I figured they would be releasing just a bit more every week to entice buyers. And now the 5Dx rumors are making the rounds.

Where's my C-Log? 5DX rumors say it has 4k C-Log. Arglebargle!

Canon should be releasing something every week or two to keep the excitement alive!

I'm not sure how it works with test cameras versus early production units, etc.

My guess is that most or all of the pre-production units have been called back and Canon is probably pulling a few early production units from the line to test, either in-house or in the field. I.e. they are starting to work with the real thing rather than prototypes. To me this means that there are probably fewer play cameras out there to get info from.

This will change as we get closer to production release.

But the real flood starts when the cameras are shipped. :)

I love this forum. Fifty-three pages of comments and speculation for a camera so far seen by a few people who couldn't even view the raw images. :-)

You would think that given how long Canon must have had / worked on the pre-production models they would have some Proper ISO shots for people to play with more so if its a great improvement over the 1dx .

if nothing else it would keep the interest for those wishing to compare, makes me wonder just how much better it really is .

Rob.

I don't think Canon has any trouble keeping the interest of prospective buyers.

Actually we have seen a couple of examples from raw, at least one 100% sample that was compared to a 1DX was later pulled by the author, most likely due to the demands of Canon, or whomever he worked for. This is how we know that pulled shadows are noticeably better.

I really regret not trying to walk him through measuring the black mask noise in an ISO 100 and 51200 RAW before he gave up the camera.

I don't think they care if you preorder it or wait a little. Production models will ship when they're ready. I'd rather they concentrate on fixing all their bugs first and getting production rolling and smooth.

Hi all.

i just dont see canon crippling the 5d series but what is interesting enough is that the 5D series is taking a turn due to the 5dsr.

IMO the 5dsr should have been the 5d4 but with 1dxmk2's sensor DR tech.

I think they'll roll out the 5DsR2 with 1DXII's sensor DR tech. I think the 5DsR was rushed/delayed a bit and should have been released earlier as Canon's large-megapixel "answer" to the D800.
