Can anybody recommend a good rolling case that is not real expensive. ~$100 preferably. If I can find one I like I will probably buy 2 of them. One for my cameras and lenses, and another for my lighting equipment.

Thanks

I used a regular roll-aboard small suitcase once costing around $50. Worked great, but everybody laughed at me.

It doesn't bother me what everybody else thinks, but I would be afraid a standard suitcase would not have enough padding, or dividers for my different pieces of equipment.

Buy a closed-cell sleeping pad at any camping/outdoor store and cut it up to make the dividers & padding for your cheap suitcase. Still bring you in within your price range. A dedicated camera roller of that size will run you closer to 2 bills.

Google JLAB rolling case. I got one for $55 and it is still rolling after 2+ years.
There is one available here:

I've got a Peli 1510 but its too heavy at times. I also have a shopping cart I bought when doing an event outdoors over rough ground which I knew the Peli couldn't pull well over. Its waterproof up to a point, use a towel to cushion the cameras, a bin bag in case it rains heavily. Cost £15.00. Good to go.

Sorry to be "that guy," but buying a nice Pelican a little beyond your budget will last you your whole life, and you could turn around and sell it used in 2060 for most of what you paid for it. The Pelican 1510 is $158 new.
If you do some hunting, you may be able to find a used rolling Pelican case within your budget, with the foam still in decent condition.

Both Monoprice and MCM Electronics sell cheap Pelican-style "tactical" cases. They do not come with a lifetime guarantee but may be worth considering on a budget or for lightweight gear. MCM has a sale this month and the rolling case is about $65 with shipping here:

Ive flown all over the world with both my Lowepro roller cases and pelican hardcase roller.

I prefer to use the lowepro rollers over the pelican. They are less obvious that you have something expensive and offer more then enough protection. If I think there is a chance I will have to check the bags under a plane then Im more likely to use the pelican case.

Here is a great tip for getting your bag on the plane even if they are checking bags at the gate. Tell them that you have video equipment with lots of lithium batteries that you cant easily put in your pockets. You cant put lithium batteries under the plane so they always find a place for your bag.

Thanks for the link, I was looking for something just like this. Got a 10% off coupon when I registered so the 22" Roller Case came out to $71 shipped.

That's the best price I've found on a lifetime warranty case with dividers. The SKB dividers seem a bit nicer than the pelican but that's just my opinion.
Above your price range but an option anyway.

Another place to check for deals on Pelican cases is the Warehouse Deals section of Amazon. I've bought two Pelican cases on there "open box" at a significant discount from new.

Put your camera gear into your normal camera bag, then put the lot into a regular roll aboard suitcase as Archibald said.
Then you will have a normal camera bag when at your destination.

A couple of things here: When I first got into photography I was really broke, and could not afford all of the new stuff at the time (this was in the old film days, WAY before you had to sell a kidney or three to purchase a new filter!) So, I went to the goodwill store and bought an old, hard sided suitcase. Went to the Fabric store with a 40% coupon and purchased foam. Took it home and outlined my white lightning flash in sharpie and the reflector, then used the electric knife to cut it out. Then when I would go do a wedding, it looked like an old suitcase and not an expensive piece of gear. Fast forward to today, and I have an old Chaps roller board suitcase that has seen better days but still serviceable. Went online and found a company that sells the "pluck foam" similar Pelican, and for about 30 dollars US I can have a rolling nondescript case that will protect my gear while not screaming steal me. Of course, I have yet to construct the bag due to life getting in the way, but none the less it is an option. Not quite as sexy as the new AW rollers from Lowepro, but should be good.
