(and so do dSLRs).

What flaws do DSLRs have that mirrorless don't? What are the things that you think mirrorless does better than DSLRs?

>>>BTW, Not looking for anyone else to jump in with answer, just checking the sincerity of Wilt's claim of being unbiased.<<<

As already pointed out by others, the latent period created by the need for the mirror to flip up, before the first curtain starts to open, is an inherent flaw, which pellicle mirrors like the Canon Pellix and Canon EOS RT tried to address...in exchange for the 'flaw' of those cameras with build up of atmospheric contaminants on the pellicle and with the loss of light to the film due to the diversion of light to the eyepiece.

And the pentaprism adds weight and height to the dSLR.

And the OVF never can appear as bright in low light scenarios, compared to the EVF in the same circumstances.

And the sound of the flipping reflex mirror adds to the obtrusive sound of the dSLR especially when they are used at 5-10 fps and there are multiple dSLR shooters at the same time. (Interestingly, the Olympus OM-1 is actually about 4dB more quiet with the reflex mirror operating normally vs. when it is locked up, and a Canon 40D makes no difference in noise with mirror lock up or not!)

On the topic of EVF's, Davey Wilson, a prominent sports photographer, gave a lot of praise the a99II, which technically isn't mirrorless because it has a translucent mirror, but it does have an EVF....a feature he speaks holds in high regard. The camera is technically a hybrid of mirrorless and DSLR technology (EVF, combination of off-sensor and on-sensor AF systems)

After being pleasantly surprised with Sony’s a77II SLT camera, an excellent, lightweight, low-cost sports option, I anxiously awaited a Sony full frame follow-up to Sony’s A99 – which was plagued with poor AF coverage & speed which, while comparable to similar priced cameras, felt substandard compared to Sony’s own lower cost SLT camera offerings. I didn’t want to jump back to Canon for the 1Dx Mark II because after shooting with Electronic Viewfinder I don’t know if I can ever go back to an optical viewfinder. For me, it’s just too many advantages to ignore.

The A99ii is what Sony SLT cameras should have been from the start. Sony not only solved the A99’s shortcomings, they improved it to an extent where it matches or exceeds the best offerings from Nikon or Canon. All this while still retaining the advantages of an electronic viewfinder, in a compact very ergonomic SLR body.

I love the poorly timed photos as examples. That said, I've picked up an XT2 and have been using it for its electronic shutter in the concert hall.
It's just another paintbrush.

No matter what Wilson, or nearly any other "name" pro says about the a99ii, it is just going to be dismissed by the photographers who grind axes against SLT and/or Sony bodies.

That said, it is good that sports shooters like this are speaking favorably of the a99ii after putting it through an assignment.

There's no axe to grind other than in your own mind. Each tool has its own pros and cons. Quite a few sports shooters who depend on their photography for a living choose Canon or Nikon for a variety of other reasons, including availability of lenses and repair turnaround time.

If you are speaking for yourself to the bolded, that's acceptable.

Not having a 400 2.8 hurts Sony's cause IRT sports, and the steep cost of the 300 2.8 ssm doesn't help them either for sure.

Fix that and repairs and then we'll talk.

The a6300 has the option of changing the display rate of the EVF to 1/120, fyi.
