EDIT: It's kind of important to point out I'm talking about the MKII bracket sorry, I can't seem to edit the title.

I'm using a yn622 to trigger my 360. They didn't feel stable in a hot shoe, so I bought the Cheetah super heavy duty barcket, but with the yn622 on I can't mount the light face up like I would want it. I think I could mount it upsidedown but then I wouldn't have access to the controls.

I ended up side mounting it but now it doesn't feel all that stable (completely defeating the purpose of the bracket) and while it probably makes little difference in the light output I can't really center the bulb.

Is anyone using this and how did you do it?

If you were to mount it upside down and use a Yn-622TX, wouldn't you then be able to control the 360 without having to access the back panel?
Or get the triggers that are made for that particular unit.
Unfortunately either of those solutions would mean spending more money.

Get one of these - S bracket

I've never felt secure with a cold shoe mount, so I switched to these.

Agree, this is the perfect answer!

Seems like a bad idea to be recommending more fragile brackets without knowing what type of modifier is being used.

This wouldn't mean more money as I have both yn622TX, and the triggers that match the 360, but I'd like to be able to double check the setting on the transmitter and the unit actually did sync.

Buy a pc sync cable and connect your AD360 to the 622 with it so that you can mount the 360 directly to the bracket.
Or you can buy what other said above, the S-bracket.
I use it all the time with my AD360 even with giant mofifiers like Elinchrom Rotalux 150cm or even bigger Dynalite parabolic 180cm.

What exactly makes the S bracket more fragile?

I would have to say move the Pro S bracket I find it can hold a 7' octa just fine. The Pro Mk2 bracket I have to hang it upside down to hold a 7' octa or hook a bungie cord to help support the weight.

And, what kind of modifier you're using that would make this fragile?

I have 3 of these brackets for use with my Streaklight 360s and speed lights. I love them! They don't feel fragile to me.

I have both the bracket you have and the recommended one, and I'd be using the recommended one to you.

The one you have hangs all the weight a long way from the stand, the recommended one is a much more robust solution.

Interesting so the general consensus here is that the MKII bracket has no benefit over the MKI?

why not use the FT16?

even if i am using the 622 to trigger for HSS i use the FT-16 to control the flash and then mount it face down where the little round brace thing is covering the screen.
