Well I have a new black lab who has been home with me a week. I'm finding it difficult to photograph a black dog indoors.
Throwing out two edits... Thoughts:

Feb 04, 2016 21:30 | #2 The top one is striking, though I don't know how much the stark black and white does for the subject's "cute factor". My PhotoBucket

Feb 04, 2016 22:01 | #3 I would try lowering the exposure or play with curves on the top photo. The coat has too bright reflections and the gray color made is a little distracting.

I did a quick edit to see how it would look without the washed out look and with a different crop. I'm not a big fan of square crops, but think it may be the best choice for this image. If you want me to remove my edit, please let me know and I'll delete it. Image hosted by forum (773835) © bob_r [SHARE LINK] THIS IS A LOW QUALITY PREVIEW. MartinDixon Slit-scan project master More info | Feb 05, 2016 08:20 | #6 I think the first one needs re-shooting away from the stairs - or at least not down the stairs - on a plain white background - the carpet tufts are annoying where you have tried to cut the dog from the background. flickr

DThriller Goldmember More info | Feb 05, 2016 16:53 | #7 Youll have to compensate for the dark fur. Remember your camera's meter wants to make everything 18% gray. In Ap take a shot of a white wall then a black wall. Both images will turn out gray. http://www.facebook.com/DPhillipsStudios
