i took this on a cruise last week. we left out of NYC just ahead of the impending snowstorm and then got slammed by it at sea. the air temp was 35F and the water temp was in the 70s leading to the smokey sea phenomenon. it was pretty eerie to see in person. I had to shoot it through a window as we weren't allowed outside due to the 70mph+ winds

Cool picture, Mike.

Although it doesn't sound like a very enjoyable cruise. Sounds more like you hooked a ride on a merchant marine ship.

it wasn't too bad, the first two days were rough but we were expecting to be stuck indoors leaving out of nyc for a few days anyhow.
