I'm selling some gear for a friend (myself not having any Nikon bodies). The lens is in good condition and works perfectly. The only thing is that the 85mm is missing its original front cap, but I'll supply a generic cap for it and a 67mm UV filter is included anyway, along with the original pouch for protection.

I'm open to selling it or trading it for some Canon gear. I'm particularly looking for a cheap 24-105mm f/4L, plus cash on my end of course. If you have something else to offer, let me know, I'll probably consider it. Since I don't shoot Nikon, this is more useless than a Canon lens I probably wouldn't use, haha. Leica/M-mount equipment is also possible for consideration. I don't want to add much cash; I'd like to keep the trade as even as possible.

Lens Model: Nikon 85mm f/1.8G
Body Condition: 8.5/10 (hairline mark on the focus window)
Lens Glass Condition: 9/10
Sale Includes: Lens, rear cap, front cap, hood, pouch
Price: $350 shipped OBO
Payments Accepted: Paypal (+3%), EMT (Canada)
Shipping Methods Available (Ships From): Canada Post/USPS/FedEx/UPS
Shipping Available To: Worldwide, Canada/USA preferred
Item location: Kitchener or Toronto, Ontario, Canada
Best Contact Method: PM or email at vatishc@hotmail.com
Feedback: "hagane" and "cvatish" on RFD, FM, POTN, HWC, heatware, eBay, etc.

How is the chromatic aberration with this lens? I bought one (used) from Lens Authority recently that I had to send back because it front focused so badly that even at MFA +20 it was still front focusing, and the CA was so bad that it was un-recoverable in Lightroom.

Thoughts?

I only used it briefly, but I'll ask my friend and I'll edit this post/PM you accordingly.

Edit: He said that it was definitely manageable and not too noticeable, just don't shoot with a strong back light wide open. That's also what I would say about this copy too, in my brief time with it.

As for the MA, he never had to adjust it on his D7000 or D600 (and the same goes for me on a D7000).

I'd say this is a good copy.
