Heya,

Since the 70D is basically better in every single way, and costs the same basically, it sort of explains why no one is pushing the T6 series conversations.

That said, a T4i to a T6 series, isn't a big jump. You get minor upgrades in some areas, but in general, you're not looking at anything substantial. More important would be to describe what you feel you need improvement on from the camera body to know what camera best suits your needs in your budget right now. Rebels are getting better and better. Nothing wrong with them. Unfortunately the T6 series is just still new and still has a high cost putting it in the same cost tier as some other cameras that are also very competitive. But again, it all comes down to what you're trying to improve upon. I wouldn't model-creep (ie, T3i... T4i... T6..., by the time you bought all that in a short period of time, you could have gotten a significantly better camera). Example, sell the T3i & T4i and use your budget to get a significantly better camera suited to whatever your needs happen to be.

Very best,

The 70d can't accurately do bounce flash. If you use bounce flash don't get that camera. Very disappointing. My brother spent his hard earned money on one and it really disappoints in that area. Its great in every other regard. Its a real issue that has been verified by quite a few folks.

I would look at the t6s if it were a little cheaper. It seems like a nice body, but the price is a little high.

I went from the 50D to the T6s, and I'm more than pleased with it.

I wonder if the T6x cameras can do bounce flash properly. They may have the same problem as the 70D.

One other thing about the 70d is that it seems a lot smaller than my 60d. Almost between a rebel and old xxd size. I can't tell you enough how disappointing the bounce flash problem is. Total deal breaker for me.

Yes, it's a real shortcoming. The only workaround that I've heard was to use the FEL button.

The rebel line is the redheaded stepchild of the forum. It's the beginners camera, the poor mans camera the one you get if you're just starting out. That's the way they are dubbed. I've used higher end bodies than what I currently own, and yeah, they're nice. But many people don't talk about the rebel line because it's like having a huffy rather than the campagnolo. They're good bodies, to some desirable because of the small size. The t6s with the rear wheel makes it a very capable body that can do a lot out in the field. I think many people go right to the 70d because the price structure is close enough. Nothing wrong with a rebel. Believe me.

Wanted to get the T6s. It would be a nice upgrade from my XS. I guess the rebel line is considered entry - hate to think of it that way. That would mean I should not upgrade my XS to another rebel line but should be enticed to either upgrade to the 70d or jump to the 7dmkII both of which are more expensive than the T6s. If the T6s shot at 7fps, that would decide it for me. The 5fps and 7fps has me sitting on the edge. Newer and better resolution at 5 fps or older less resolution at 7fps not to mention the RAW buffer on the 70d is much faster.

I don't shoot high fps ever. I learned on a fully manual yashica super fx-2000. Used it for many years. I guess it all depends what you shoot. If its real high fps, go for a different body. For the things I do, I'm sure I could even use an xs. The t6s to me, looks like a great body, and I would consider one when the price drops. I am not a fan of a big, huve , heavy body. I think the 60d is an ideal size and my t3i with the 40mm is ideal when I want to go light. I also have an m. The AF is a little slow. I'm really thinking of getting the m3. The AF is supposed to be better. I'll get that with the lens converter so I van use my EF and efs lenses. The build is great and the photos are also great.

I guess if you time the shot right you'll never need higher fps, in which case 5 fps would be plenty.
