As the OP...I have no problem with that. I would love to see more pictures and more discussion on the T6s

I just got my T6s yesterday, with the ef 18-135mm lens. I hadn't shopped for a new camera for quite a while, and almost fell into the authorized/ non-authorized dealer/ grey market trap. I found an online dealer that had the body only for $650. Nothing posted with the body indicated that it wasn't USA full warranty. I snooped around the website some and found the fine print page that basically said they weren't authorized dealers for some brands, specifically Canon or Nikon. I went to yelp.com and found quite a few complains about the dealer too. In the end, it's true, you get what you pay for, I ended up going to bestbuy and paying $1050 for the T6s- 18-135mm lens kit.

So far, I've only taken a few test shots, and I can see right away that the pictures are very easy to get real sharp- probably the IS in the lens. Coming from a T3i, the new touchscreen is very impressive and very easy to use. I've spent some time playing around with the wi-fi, connecting it to my Iphone and then emailing the pictures out. I'm wondering if you can use the wi-fi to connect to your laptop or desktop to copy full sized picture files directly to your hard drive?

Anyway, I'm real happy with it so far, and hope to get some decent photos posted soon.....

Scott

Nice choice. Post some pics when you can. Haven't tried wi-fi directly but I don't think you can, you'll have to stick with connecting to your i-phone and transferring that way I believe, otherwise just use a cable. If enough people complain to Canon they might offer a direct wifi firmware fix unless someone knows a way.

I'm a fan of my T6s. I was keeping an SL1 in my bag with a pancake when I wanted small and nice. I find the T6s is nearly as portable and FAR more usable. It seems to have a little more DR, too.

Basically I bring my 5D3 for anything where I can look like a photographer, and the T6s when I want to look like a tourist.

Hoping to get an 85mm in future.

One last shot with crocuses after some rain. I would have liked the sun to be out .. maybe another day.

Nothing wrong with the Rebel line except the stigma some people attach to it. I still use my T3i quite a bit. I did get a 70D for the higher frame rate and better video capability since I shoot girl's softball. Flash has not been a problem since I normally use my 6D for occasions when I need flash.

I had a t2i and loved it (still have it in the box). Never understood the hype on the Rebel line is a toy... but now that I have my 7dm2 I tried keeping the t2i as a backup and when I do pick it up, I just dont like how it feels... worked for my needs and if I was still on the Rebel line I wouldnt understand the hype but I understand now... thus my t2i is still in the box with grip, 5 batteries and 2 chargers.. ebayed it and it didnt go for much (thank goodness for reserve)

I guess if you time the shot right you'll never need higher fps, in which case 5 fps would be plenty.

my t2i had 3.5fps (i think) and I never used it but when I went to do a soccer goalie dive with a kid kicking at him I wanted to do layers where they fade in, into the save and 3.5/s is ummm not fast enough... 5 wont do much more. i have 10 now and dont even use it...

so there are uses for high fps as I agree 100% with you... I have always timed my shots... and pushes you to get better as most use high fps to spray and choose the best... that is not photography...

Okay, I did find out you CAN use Wi-Fi to transfer your pictures from your T6s/T6i to your computer.

Press: Menu>wench1>Wi-Fi/NFC choose "enable"

Go back to the menu, select "Wi-Fi Function

Select the monitor picture, "View images on DLNA devices"

You are given 3 options, Choose "find network", OK is then highlighted, select it.

Your camera then looks for wireless networks, and produces a list. Select your network, and hit "ok".

At this point, it asks me how I want to enter my network password:

1. Enter 8-63 ASCII charactors
2. Enter 64 hexadecimal char.

I guess if you have chosen a different level of security for your wireless network, things will be different.

You are presented with a mini keyboard, enter your password, select "ok"

The next page is "ip address set", I select "auto"

After a few seconds of "busy" being displayed, you get the "Connection" screen. That's it, you're connected to your network. Two options are listed:

1. Disconnect, exit --select when your done
2. Confirm set. --select gives you access to 4 pages of your network connection settings.

Put the camera down, go to your computer. (I have windows 10, if your OS is different, let us know how you do, sorry)

1. select window (start) button>"file explorer"
2. select "this Pc" from the list.
Under "network locations" I have a a black, square icon, with the letters "EOS" Labeled, "Canon EOS Rebel T6s"

Double click the EOS icon and then "SD folder">> "100 canon" >>(numbered picture folders.

That's it, your pictures. Once you setup your connection you can choose it again without entering all the info over again.

Good luck!
Scott
