Here's a before and after. I'd love some critique in terms of how I did touched up the photo.

I would say that the skin texture has been noticeably improved in the after shot.

However, the overal image is also noticeably lighter, and now the highlights are beginning to wash out - especially in her right arm and hand. In order to not distract from her face, that arm and hand should be burned in to a much quieter tone.

I would also make the comment that this model has a long slender face, and for that situation, you want a full face portrait - not the 3/4, because the 3/4 portrait accentuates the length from top of her head to her chin.

However, on the plus side, she is very attractive and the picture is very tastefully done.

Looks good - glad the 'rogue foot' was edited out.

I would remove the 'shiny spot' on her nose too.

And - just a picky one - try and 'bring back' some texture in her hair, where the shadows have lost all detail. (If detail not available - I guess I would have wanted some reflected light to avoid the deep shadows)... only my views.

Otherwise I think great portrait... dont really see probs with face lenght myself. But good tip for future use!

Looks like you did well so far. I would get rid of the dual reflection in the model's left eye. Also you could smooth out the models lips a bit with the blur tool.

Not to be too harsh but both after shot gave the 5 o'clock shadow along the jaw line.

The second pass is good but you have problems around the left side of the jaw. It is coming out white.

I wouldnt practice 'over shopping' ... do something different with it... b/w add grain, work in something else.

If you have to have it in colour and going for the glamour style shot then your original post, but the edited version is better.

Peter.
