Can one just cut off the 2nd and 3rd Sata power connectors? They get in the way.

Space is getting tight, unfortunately the Sata power cables are daisy chained - too short to connect other SSDs so I end up with a bunch of unused Sata block connectors.

I assume they are all in paralell - so can I just cut them off really close to the 1st connector block, hopefully just inside the recess, or should I leave say 20mm and cover them with heat shrink? ( for safety )

Proposed cut

Fortuneately the continuing wire is on top i.e. Will not be against the case side.

Don't see why you could not cut it. Just make sure you cut it where you got the cutters at and electric tape the ends so there is no chance of contact.

They are only the 4 wires, nothing complicated, so yes you can do it with no harm to anything.
As mentioned use electrical tape or insulated heat shrink t prevent shorting.

Another solution is to fold the whole thing up and secure with cable ties. Me, I never have enough power cables so the idea makes me cringe! :)

This is what I would do.

I have 5 wires :-/
Re leaving them see the samsung drive lower right and the 2 extra daisy chained sockets - pretty messy :(

You hopefully can see the mess I made of one I cut .... I just stuffed it on the top of the lower Noctua fan to be able to photograph it.
My idea was to cut as deep as I could into the recess of the connector block, and then squidge some self healing tape into the recess over the bare cut end. (Cut with pointed cutters ) only to find it wasnt as deep a cut as I required, because I discovered that the end of my little cutters had broken off :(:( )

So I've aborted the cutting idea till new ones arrive.
However, Maybe that 'adhesive' heat-shrink would be a safer bet. Or those crimped terminators ( I've got a pro crimper somewhere).

Hell this is taking me forever, its bloody embarrassing, I saw a video on UTube and a little 7 year old girl built a pc in 58 minutes flat!! :(:(:(
It's the lack of basic knowledge, stopping to,research stuff, like do I plug the Sata drives into the 6 GB/s iSata motherboard socket or the 6 GB/s sSata socket? Is there a difference??

BTW I dont recommend the HP 4K screen, pretty crap quality, the saleswoman lied - its not got a glass screen ( easy cleaning was a big big factor for me), and the first one came with the front trim distorted out, and the replacement one came and rotating pivot from Lanscape to portrait wont budge more than 25 mm!

Think. Might I have more chance of winning the rollover Loto, than this thing posting first time :(

Initially tried it.
But the plan is to cover all those drive bay access panel slots on the right with one sheet of 2mm polished stainless and bolt that to the back wall, sandwiching in some sound deadening material. And then put the 2 slide ssd cariers on that.
But there wont be the length to fold them back out of sight:(

Or I would have folded them back.

I'm confused... is the CPU cooler just resting there until you put it all together?

As for the wires and cutting them... I would just do as Jake recommended and cable tie them. There are numerous videos out there disproving the importance of cable management for airflow btw... it really doesn't matter, especially with the absurd amount of case fans you have. That said, your system would certainly look nicer with the cables managed properly.

The cooler is just resring in there, as I needed the space to put the monitor up.

Absurd no of fans, sort of agree.
Why - well to save my top Gen 3 PCIe x16 I had to twist the cooler 90 deg. So it was contra to the front to back airflow.
As the cooler comes with 2 x 150mm fans I needed 2 above it, otherwise the upward air flow would contricted as there is only 40mm to the top of the case.
Then as we have dust generating velvet carpets, I wanted positive air pressure to minimise dust accumulation in the case. So I put in a 3rd one at the front. So for £48 I thought it was worth it!

Hopefully as they will all run down to 300 rpm, I might have significant airflow but at a very low noise level.

I also didnt want to reduce the low level airflow as the PCIe to M.2 card adpter is in the bottom x8 Gen 3 slot. And that is where the Samsung 950 will reside - and they get to 98C within 1 minute, so I want as much cooling as possible.

As it all cost about £2,000 .... £45 seemed worth it to me.
