Hey there!

So I have my little starter Canon camera which is 12.1 MP and my Samsung's is 13 MP at the back.

Now my question is which should I side with I figured the canon since, it is obviously for capturing photos, and has more options towards photos but I'm not sure. Because the Samsung does take good pictures but the auto focus is very crappy and you have to focus it manually..

Can someone help I'm not sure what to do.

Thanks!:-)

Not sure why no one has answered you but I guess I will because I have owned the Galaxy s4 (and currently own a s6).

I love the cameras that Samsung puts on their phones. Great for day time snap shots and such. I bought the s6 only because it had a pro mode. That said, there is no real comparison in this decade between Real Cameras and Phone Cameras. Some day yes, but not yet.

While I haven't a clue about your camera I can say this, the sensor on any point and shoot is usually going to be bigger. As is the lens. Plus the fact that a P&S does not crop the image to zoom in you're getting your full resolution every shot. Where as a cell phone you basically can't zoom. If you look at the shots on your computer at 100% you will usually see that cell phones images are not as clear as a cameras also.

People often forget that MPs are not exactly the most important thing about a camera. Just look at Canons flag ship 1D series. Takes the most amazing pictures and still around 20mp. But the sensor is half the size as an iPhone. Its clarity is through the roof. So your phone may have more MP, but it doesn't make it better.
