Hi there,

So i recently ventured into video and have been trying for a month now trying to edit a collection of clips. What i'm looking for now is someone to help me edit these together.
Would anyone be up for the challenge?

Target audience for completed project? Your level of quality expectations? Output format? Inquiring minds want to know...

Target Audience - is erm... people that are into cars
Level of quality expectations - Better than me in movie maker, The videos will need w/b adjustments for sure and maybe some contrast adjustment, slow mo etc.
Output format - Any video file. I could always convert it if nessacery, Idealy MP4

Your Dakota clip looks very good - why are you seeking help here? What do you envision beyond your present skill level?

(My skill level doesn't meet the levels in Dakota so I'm not a candidate.)

Some (most?) video editing software has that capability - I'm not sure about the Mac software (I'm Linux and Windows).

Got a short clip that POTN members could play with?

Do you have any editing software? What is it?

Are you looking to use the tools you have, or need advice on new tools?

Thanks for the reply, I have Vegas Pro and after effects. i did a rough edit (somewhere on my computer i hope) but all the colours looked completely washed out.
Ideally i'm looking to send the videos to someone and for them to return a short mix of them.

Vegas has some great filters you should seek out and learn.

If color is right, but washed out, or too bright, or too dark, try the "Levels" filter. It comes up in RGB mode, which is what you want. Experiment with creating points on the line to make it more of an S shape from lower left to upper right.

If color is wrong, Vegas has a 3-way color corrector. This gives you 3 wheels for shadows, mid-tones, and highlights, and allows you to steer the color of any of those wheels warmer, colder, anywhere around the color wheel.

Such filters may be applied at any of 5 different levels, but to start out, you'd typically apply them to a Track, using the filters control in the track header area.

Vegas Pro is a *very* capable editor, and can do most anything you want. It sounds like you're very unfamiliar with video editing. You should be searching YouTube for terms like "levels filter Vegas pro", and, "color corrector Vegas pro".

You might also wish to review the Vegas Newsletters at jetdv.com. Edward Troxel wrote them for about a 5 year period, and they're getting old, but the basic functions of Vegas Pro haven't changed much since Vegas 7. Or even V 4. They're worth reading.

Are you looking for some help learning how to do this or for someone to do this for you? If the former, you might want to look for people in your area so you can sit down together at the computer -- otherwise, I recommend YouTube. If the latter, what will you be doing with the finished product? Is it going to get you work? Sell tickets? Get sold? In which case, how much are you willing to pay?

Ideally the latter, it will be posted on Facebook with full credit to the person / people editing it. It isn't for sale or going to make me money, it's more hobby style stuff.
