Reddish Egrets have to be one of the most entertaining birds to watch as they fish, feeling for fish with their feet, then mantling to throw a shadow and making the grab. At Little Estero Lagoon, Fort Myers Beach, Florida.

What a great series Ian! Great shots and so fun to watch.

I always think of them as cartoon characters for some reason, one of my favorites.

Great set Ian, one of my favorites too. I especially like the second shot and the shadow fishing pose. I usually get a room near the lagoon because I'm worried I'll get towed parking across the road. Did you park there?

Thanks Robert, Paul, Alan, Sandy and Steve.
Steve, as long as I go on a weekday, I park around back of the Wyndham Hotel (used to be the Holiday Inn). They have a guard keeping people out on weekends except registered guests, but weekdays I just pull around to the lot to the left and drive in as far as I can and park, and have never had a problem in the several years I've done that.

Thanks for the tip Ian. I've wondered about parking there and whether or not I should ask the front desk. It was affordable to stay there when it was the Holiday Inn, prices went way up with the new ownership.

Ha, actually the very first time I parked there I did ask first at the desk and they really didn't care at all. Sine then I don't bother asking Nd just park. There's always plenty of spaces.

Thanks kindly, they are definitely do-not-miss birds when you're in SW Florida!
