Hello,

I need help on this portrait shots that I took from my girlfriend earlier, I have no idea really what or how to process them. Ideas are welcomed. Thank you

Can you post the RAW files to Dropbox and then post a link here so that we can give them a try?

Are you just looking for normal WB, color, contrast, and sharpness adjustments or something more? And I agree posting the RAW files would be much better.

EDIT: I just looked at your 500px site, and while not all are edited in a style that I would choose, it seems you are proficient in post processing. Why would you need us to edit these? Or are you simply looking for creative ideas? I saw your edits are a little "outside the normal box."

Here's an idea for you: A crop and little added snow.

OP, what is it about the images that you don't like? I actually think the second image is great as it is. The light/white balance is quite cool but I think that works really well for this shot. Light sand, light boots, light top, pale skin, bright/white sky.... all says cool WB to me.

The first image on the other hand I would delete. Your girlfriend is beautiful and the second image is lovely but that first one is just really unflattering. The pose is really awkward. It makes her look like a hunch back and the tilted head doesn't help either. Add to that the close crop (the top of the frame is too close to her head) and the image has the feeling she is trapped in a small box.

Agree with Dan's comments on first image...second image...neat trick with no ripples from hand in water.

Thank you all, I have this creative block recently. I edit my pictures in almost the same style and I got bored from it tbh. It seems to me like I can't edit photo in another style...

If you'de like to see myriad styles, post up some raw files; you'll get lots of ideas from the response!

I couldn't disagree more. Whether or not one likes my crop, that beautiful smile in # 1 is just captivating. #2 is just outright boring.

The images have the same color "issues" if you want to call it that - they both have a cyan cool cast to them. The colors in the scene are nicely set up as complementary, with the cream/pink/orange tones against the blues. Here is an edit to bring out those complementary colors - the color correction was performed with the "Selective Color" adjustment layer in PS. The screenshot shows you the colors and the adjustments I made and a striped mask is applied to the corrections so you get a local "before and after."

They are very nice shots.

Here is the first image, edited by dragging the adjustment layers from the first edit into the second.

I just feel like I am lacking a lot when I process portrait images or that I am doing the same thing over and over again, I have this huge creative block...

You have a lovely wife and I like image #1 (as well as #2).

I went a little old school on these:
