I was just testing my new camera (the Sony A7RII) with an old lens (the Sigma 18-200). I was originally testing the IBIS to see how it would deal with hand-holding a moon shot, but then set up the tripod as I wanted to test the zoom focus assist. After running one file through PS, I created two edits.

My girlfriend and I don't agree on which is best, so I leave it to the forum to let me know which y'all prefer. I won't say which one I like so as to not bias responses. Also, any suggestions for how to improve the image is of course appreciated. Thanks for looking, and thanks in advance for any replies.

Thanks. Unfortunately, I am getting website offline when trying to visit that link. Hopefully it comes back online soon.

A few years ago I used my old camera (Canon 40D) and used my telescope with a 2x Barlow adapter to shoot with prime focus. It required stitching together 7 shots to create the image I posted in this thread: May Day Moon Shot. I still need to practice more with my telescope and prime focus. Also, I've learned so much about Photoshop since then I am thinking I should go back and redo the post on those exposures.

I've got a better camera now, but less opportunity with my current location. I did the May Day Moon Shot from my parents' deck, which has expansive views of the sky. But where I live now I only have a tiny window to sky from our yard, giving me only about 90 minutes in a small patch of sky. So to do any serious astrophotography I'm going to have to travel. My girlfriend and I are talking about heading out of the city with my scope for the opposition of Jupiter on March 8th if we get the chance. Maybe to her parents' place in the country.
