Does Skyport HS work well with D-Lite 400?

I have the first generation D-Lite 400 (not RX). On Elinchrom website (external link) the D-lite 400 is listed compatible with Hi-Sync. I wonder how well it works with the Skyport HS and how high of a shutter speed can I expect while using it with my Canon 5D MK3?

Thanks

No

Even the list compatible lights that I have (Ranger RX with S head) were marginal.

It all depends on what your expectations of a clean frame are. I was going to order one of the Elinchrom Quadra HS Flash Heads, but I'm skeptical that it will be what has been advertised, this based on a couple of other comments by users and my own experience testing my supposed compatible heads. I'm also thinking that Nikon bodies work better with the implementation. I do like the Skyport HS, especially after dealing with the crappy Skyport speeds.

Remember, your mileage may vary.
