I want to make sure if I did buy the EOS Elan 7NE that it's lenses would work on a 20D/30D and future DSLRs from Canon.

Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

EF-S lenses do not fit the EOS Elan series. The 20D and 30D can use all the EF and EF-S lenses.

The Elan can take all EF mount lenses so any lens you buy for it will fit the 20D and the 30D and any future EOS DSLR camera with the EF mounts, as long as the lenses are made by Canon. If they're third party lenses, there's no guarantee that they'll work with future DSLR cameras made by Canon.

The Canon 12mm extension tube is supposed to be able to accept EF-S lenses, So with that addition any EF-S lens could be used with any Canon body which accepts EF lenses as long as you have the extension tube.

...but take note that vignetting may occur.

...and you probably won't be able to focus out to infinity, either, with the extension tube attached, although, if the use if primarily for macro-type work, then it won't matter any.
