They look amazing. They are not cheap but I can see photojournalists using them the way they used to use the G series from Canon: as a backup compact camera. When they come out, I will pop into my camera store and check them out.

I was wanting the one that zooms to 500. Since it is a fixed lens---a lot of sports, concert venues that have the rule "non-professional cameras" (no detachable lens)---will likely give an ok to this camera being brought in. I say likely because they could always say no due to it s video capability. Anyway it was to have been released a few days ago but has been indefinitely delayed with no known new release date due to a catastrophic hardware failure of some sort. Too bad---I am thinking now it inight be a great chance it never sees the light of day.

What a shame, I was really looking forward to this camera. Does anybody know what the Canon equilivent would be? I had my eye on the 28-85, so I'm looking for a quality short zoom bridge camera. Thanks!

I've been keeping an eye on this one. Waiting for them to release the manual for it before make any decisions.

The FPS rate caught my attention. I have a need to a quick burst as well as tethered shooting. Canon removed tethered shooting from the G series after the G10. Made it worthless for me.

If I can shoot tethered then this one is a perfect fit for me: https://amzn.com/B01C3LEIGU (external link)

So it's a wait and see.
