Sometimes i come across - on the net special offeres on older LR aplications like LR4-LR5, these are offered with the key alomost like a Grey Import and are fully legit but not supported by Adobe, a friend told me Adobe do not like you to go this way as they are not making the price if they do not sell them to you.
I guess these are great value for money(so to speak) but you are stuck and limited to just that application and can not update it through the Adobe site eg 5-6?

I have come across the download file for my LR5.7 in my downloads, so guess i could reinstall this inplace of CC 2015/6.1, i know it is not Lumix FZ300 RAW compatable, i was wondering - if i shoot in RAW then use the Silkypix app that comes with the cam, to convert the RAW files into 16bit Tiff files, i will be able to open and edit these in LR5.7 with no trouble - does this sound workable without loosing to much work space over a pure RAW file in LR?

You could keep version 5.x and just use the Adobe DNG converter to convert to an appropriate version of dng file for your LR version. That way you will retain full RAW processing in LR. That would be much better than moving to TOFF if you want to keep using LR, you will still be working on RAW data, not TGB pixels.

The DNG converter is a free download.

CAUTION PAY ATTENTION TO THIS BIT.

Ensure that you also KEEP THE NATIVE RAW FILE as well as the dng conversion. The dng conversion option is very useful, but converted dng files are not always universally compatible with other companies software. Keep the original data for ppssible future needs.

I received my Brand shiny new FZ300 this morn and set about taking some pics in RAW2, pur the card in my laptop and opened up LR CC 2015.4 but no RAW files from my FZ could be opened, a message said it could not open them with the current LR.

So i decided to bin this LR CC rubbish and go back to what i knew/Know trusty LR5.7 as i had found the install saved in my downloads for this, so re loaded and back on with the full version with key of 5.7, with the cam was a cd disk with Silkypix 4.4 this provided me with a RAW convertor, so i have decided to use this just to convert the RAWS and convert them to a full size lossles TIFF, then use LR5.7 to edit my Tiff files.

So far the quality looks quite impressive compairing a close pic from both my old 7d/250 STM zoom and my new FZ300, i would say there is very little in it despite the sensor size difference:-)
