I think these may be mates. I've continually seen them in this same tree along the levy, always together. The first one was shot on Friday, the second 2 images were shot yesterday. Same tree, they were perched just a little farther apart.

Then yesterday I came across an adolescent. He was perched in a tree, but couldn't get a decent shot of him due to the tree being so far away, and so many branches. However he did fly, and about ten minutes later done a fly-by.

Great images. I have only ever seen these birds in the wild in the last few weeks. Impressive, beautiful, and magnificent are adjectives that come immediately to mind when I seem them in their natural environment.

Yes they are. Until recently they were not seen in this area, now we have a few. Some say there are around 35. So far I've only seen 8.
