I was out birding in the Sax-Zim Bog of northern Minnesota this morning when this cute pine marten paid a visit. These were taken with a 7DII at 600mm (Sigma 300mm f2.8 with a 2X TC).

Really good photos, in the UK (no idea about the US) the pine marten is the second hardest resident mammal to see (the hardest being the wild cat).

They are hard to capture here too. I've seen one once in the wild, and it was brief. No camera anyway. My uncle got him later on a trail cam, but that's about it. Very nice pictures
