Both #1 and #3 look about 1/2 a stop underexposed. I'd also crop tighter.

The puppy!!!!!

Oh, that wasn't the choice?

Agree that 1 and 3 are too dark. Colours in 2 don't look right (on my monitor) - almost sepia.

Try a tighter crop (just to compare) - perhaps a square crop using the centre - i.e. lose the space on the left and the legs on the right.

You've captured a nice moment.

Cheers, Damien

That's what I'm seeing on my screen as well.

I'd crop a lot tighter. Basically include her ehad and puppies head and include Over tomjust to the right side of her elbow. Crop everything else out.

Its not a b&w shot to me. I think the yellow tones in #2 are a bit much but i also think #1 might look a touch cool.

You captured a nice moment and I like the emotion of it.

In #2 you seem to loose the red colors.

This. Crop the image to include only the little girl and the dog napping together. If you can't get the white balance right, and it isn't right in both those color images, convert to grey scale and bump up the contrast. The image is a bit too flat. Otherwise, I like the idea of the little girl and the dog, even if the execution is a bit off.

I agree with everyone who suggests you crop.

To me, one of the major differences between a great photo and a snapshot are not just the capture of the moment, but the background. The room in the upper and left just make this a snap. Crop those out and get to the meat of the subject and you've got a much better photo!

Thanks all... I tried to "clean/crop" them up a bit... I appreciate it. The wife is happy about them, and we all know a happy wife is a happy life!!!
