Usually local breeders also have colored leg bands on them to make it easier to identify that individual without retrapping it. yeah, this was taken in point reyes, which gets a lot of migrating birds, i know they trap and band them on hawk hill in the marin headlands...i did a bit of research looking up the band, but it's actually 9 numbers, so i think it's main purpose is if the bird is found dead, or trapped again Andre or Dre
