That's a very good thought, hmm.

Thank you very much for the input.

Boy there's a lot going on with that photo that really distracts me from the subject. As always, great lighting.

For my taste, this is nearly a 'perfect' portrait. I would only tone down that bright circular light on the left that draws the eye away from a wonderful exposure of the subject.

Would you mind sharing the lighting setup for this shot?

Love the 40's Butterfly lighting! It's still glamourous to my eyes... To my eyes this image is slightly overexposed by about .7 of a stop, but I'm old... lol. Regardless, it's a great capture.

She posed for me so what could I do but take a shot? The lighting is natural and the background is laundry drying on a flat roof.

I don't know anything. But I know other things.

I could be wrong, but, assuming that Bryzf1 took this for this senior high school student, this place, and the things around the subject hold meaning for the client. These may not be distractions at all. To me, it's an intriguing photo.

I was thinking the same thing!! I understand the whole "cluttered background" bit, but in some cases, the background is actually what makes the image, IMO. I too "like" the image, as it def tells a "story".

I would suggest that you, and most subjects you shoot make eye contact with the camera. Look right down that lens.

I like this image, except his shirt collar being folded under the jacket. Was that intentional?

Great light modeling! Curious why you cropped the image so tight? The unconnected 'mystery hand' is kinda distracting IMHO. Such a lovely model saved it :)
