Visitors. My father's photo from the 1940s. The musucal instrument in the alcove is a harmonium, you can think of it as a home organ. The boy is wearing felt boots, common winter footwear in Finland in those days. I don't know about now.

That's excellent! Well done.

Still waiting for the wisdom they promised would be worth getting old for.

bokeh test ... RF85 @ f/2 vs. RF70/200 @ f/4 ... the perspective is different, but the bokeh/isolation looks near identical to me ... what do you think?

In my opinion the first shot has the better Bokeh. The grass to the right of the subject is a little distracting in the second photo. It seems slightly chaotic. Just my opinion only.

I'm in agreement with the OP. The difference is barely notable, and certainly not enough to limit the use of f4 for its DOF if desired.

I enjoy all your old photos of your earlier days. A different world in many was.
Is that a Täkänä on the wall? Have you any? We've a couple given by sister in law. They're fascinating craftsmanship

As is the woodwork in the joinery of the walls

Thanks Richard, I'm glad you like them. In many ways those were better days. People lived closer to life. They didn't get fat, they did things themselves not by gadgets, walked to the store or school, ate food not made in factories . . . We call those woollen wall hangings "ryijy". Some are as big as the loom could make them. We had only a couple and they didn't end up with me.

I don't know anything. But I know other things.
