http://petapixel.com …-for-his-public-comments/ (external link)

I did a few searches and couldn't find this anywhere on here (to my surprise). The article is about Jake Olson who I am familiar with for being a guest editor on 500px as well as being interviewed by them several times for his technique.

In the article Jake was posting images about his expensive car and when asked why he mentioned the price, it all goes downhill from there. The worst part seems to be when he tells a commenter to consider commuting suicide.

I do like Jake's work but with everything he said he deserves nothing. Some of his workshops have already been cancelled and hopefully more ars cancelled soon.

Wow!
Nothing like a little success going to one's head!
You would think "crash and burn" but then look at Terry Richardson. What a society we live in.

He can try scrubbing his comments from FB and wherever else they ended up, but it's too late. What goes on the internet, stays on the internet, maybe just not in its original location.

I'd much rather be a decent person that's incapable of taking anything but snapshots with my camera, than of successful ass. Karma has a way of making the proud humble. It may take a while, but it'll come.

I wasn't aware of the photographer before this thread, but wow. Who does that? Was he on a bender when he steered it off the rails?

Whats strange is another photographer that has a similar style has also been caught in the past, with their panties in a wad and hanging their derriere out when lashing out with the mean verbal comments. I lose respect for people like this.

I'm glad this isn't my style of photography.. I'd never want to be this mean to others.

.

This is absolutely unbelievable!

I highly recommend clicking on the link - and then keep reading all the way down thru the screen captures.
You will read stuff like you have never before seen from someone who is trying to be a successful public figure.

Oh, and let's try to make sure that this never gets locked or removed, even if Jake Olson contacts POTN and threatens a libelous suit if we keep it up.
The guy needs to be forever exposed for who he is, and taking negative things down off the 'net will not help to expose him - leaving things up and active will help to expose him.

We shouldn't cave in to people who ask us to remove negative things about them.

I have made my own screen captures of the screen captures, so if PetaPixel ever removes them, you can contact me and I will gladly send them to you.

.

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

Yes but did they flaunt their wealth and tell people to consider suicide? I think not. This is the work of someone truly egotistical.

I'm surprised he didn't go for the "I was hacked defense" that most people try.

I'm not expert on SEO, but hopefully more and more sites keep posting about this so when fututr clients Google his name, articles and discussionsdiscussions like this about what he did come up!
