That's what happens when you have fake success stories. Someone who genuinely is successful tries not to draw attention to themselves. Look at all successful monopolies that try to keep things low-key so as not to invoke the wrath of the government and anti-trust legislation. Look at the guys with the multi-million dollar homes driving old cars vs. apartment folks leasing brand new BMW's. #generalizing

if you can afford a cayenne turbo s, and have a home garage to park it in, you're doing very well. The payment for the car alone is probably more than most people's mortgage.... In terms of photography income, that's probably top 0.001%, assuming his income comes from photography.

He could very well be leasing it and/or taking out a second mortgage on it. Never judge a man by his car...unless you think first-impressions matter more so than reality-check balance-book and actual valuation. I have neighbors driving very nice cars but still collecting welfare. This is the behavior of a credit-driven, keeping-up-with-the-jonses society.

True story. I was working at a bank fresh out of my undergrad because the economy sucked, but was fortunate that I was placed in the wealthier parts of the city....lots of old oil and gas money. Put me in a pretty unique position to see the disparity between how people often present themselves vs how they really are financially. Really wealthy people typically aren't buying $200k Porsche's and bragging about it. That was the 'new money' who was going into a lot of debt to create the impression of wealth.

A couple of years later I found myself doing M&A work for an i-bank and understood why...sometimes prestige means a whole lot more than real tangible wealth, and to be successful there I had to work my ass off to maintain an image I didn't necessarily care for, because that whole industry is all about prestige. (this is why I got out of it).

The way Olson is presenting himself is reminiscent to those guys who feels that his success is own livelihood is dependent on the impression of wealth and success that he projects (very loudly). And I can see why. His work, while very good and better that anything I'm shooting, isn't any better than some of the stuff people are posting here. The only thing that separates him from some of the really talented photographers here is prestige and the impression of success and wealth that he's projecting. Take that away and he's just one of the very many talented photographers out there in the world.

i posted a link to the PetaPixel article as a comment on his training ad an hour ago ... it was deleted and i am now banned from posting on his page. Never realized who this joker was, but i have seen his photoshop training video many, many, times on my facebook feed.

i bet he's pretty busy blocking people and keeping his page clean.

lol I noticed that his page hasn't been updated since late last year...so I wonder if he did a thorough scrubbing of his page.

So it seems like he created his own wikipedia page. But then he told somebody that one of the reasons he was so important was because there was a wikipedia page about him!
I really love to see people get what's coming to them.
Aint it great?!!!

.

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

If I could afford Cayenne Turbo S, I would buy a real car like Aston Martin DB9 or a Maserati GT :)

Good taste big boss :p

Im really shocked by what i read here. I do honestly hope that his reputation will get so bad that he never gets the oppirtunity again to shoot even a small portrait session. People like these deserve a bucket loaded with something that comes out of a cow.
