I will be going to Washington DC this weekend to see the main monuments. I want to travel light, based on my signature, what should I bring. I was thinking 17-40 and 50 (indoors). Thoughts?

Because of some of the interesting framing you can get at the mall, I would want the 70-200 with me. because of the steps in front of the monuments (jefferson and Lincoln) you can get a better shot from a bit further back with a longer lens. if not the zoom at least take the 85.

So I will consider the 50 and 70-200. What about the wide end. 17-40vs 24-70. I am considering the 17-40 solely based on physical size and weight.

I've lived in DC and travel for shoots at least once a year there. I also have had your same setup at a point in time.

I would bring everything except your 70-200, leave the 24-70 as well.
