wanted to take advantage of the sunbreaks this afternoon, but didn't have time to go far, so i headed down to a nearby park for a couple of hours. here are a couple of shots taken "between clouds"...

this ruby-crowned kinglet sat sill long enough for a shot...

Nice shots-those little hyper-active guys can be hard to photograph.

indeed they can! thanks, Ken! i got some more shots of the kinglet, but the light was crap, and they weren't worth trying to salvage... i can always get more... ;)

I love number #2...such great detail ...even amongst all the black you got some eye catchlight which really helps seperate the eye from rest of the sorrounding hood/feather blacks ....well done

Rog, you're right... it's been a lousy winter here... wettest on record, which means lots of clouds and dark, gray days. rain and gloom are normal for the Seattle area in winter, but this year has been worse than normal. i think spring is finally making an entrance, though.
