I have a free account on Fine Art America. They send weekly summaries, which includes how many times one's images have been viewed. Well, it's never very much; there are some weeks that go by that I have none. This of course explains in part why I haven't upgraded to a paid membership. The thing that has confused me is that one of my most popular shots is of a bull frog. It's called "Bull Frog Eyes". I have wracked my brain trying to explain the popularity of a particular amphibian's optical sensors. Then it came to me, I'll bet there's a rock band somewhere by that name. I was close. I did a search and found that my photo's title is an underground name for the male equivalent of the camel toe. Yeah, sort of a let down. Apparently this is a wildly popular modern, uh, something. I can only imagine the disappointment when a determined search for related images brings the seeker to my photo of real bull frog eyes. Perhaps it is educational. But the lesson I have learned is that name of a photo seems to be the key to hits. I'm thinking of naming all my photos the same way, regardless of content.
