Ashley got in contact with me about starting a modeling portfolio. She was a little nervous and said she would need a lot of help posing but I thought she did really well with direction. I would really appreciate some C and C Thanks guys. (Theres one thing I noticed right off the bat that I'm sure everyone will comment on. Let see who says it first)

Shot with either sigma 50art or 85mm1.8

...nice! I like how you placed her left arm to be straight and hand pointing forward! small detail but it somehow looks awkward when it's bent and the hands are pointing the other directions!

Yup thats what I was thinking. Do you think the best way to get rid of that is to selectively tinker with hue saturation brush in photoshop?

Are you being sarcastic? What image are you referring to?

...not being sarcastic, the first photo! I've seen some photos where the model's elbow is bent the other way and it appears to be broken. it's not a discussion of what is right or wrong, simply my observation!

Oh oh I mistook the "its" in the sentence. I saw it as. I like the way you put her arm. Its pretty awkward

Yeah its somthing I notice too. People tend to hyper extend that elbow (broken look), put too much weight on it (big arm look) and turn the hand all the way in or out (weird hand look). Before I had her do that I told her about all those things.

Yah...I'd try to selectively correct it from the RAW file.

#1 In the first shot, see a definite green CA in the buildings/concrete to building. I like the pose and the lower left lens flare blurs it just enough to make her the main focus.
#2 Nice, i like how well the background color/design goes with her shirt.
#3 Good pose, but her right hand is too large and distracting. If it were behind her other arm, i think she would be the stronger subject, rather then her hand. Foreshortening.
#4 Nice. I would prefer her hand on her neck or slightly under her hair, showing fingers, rather then blocking her chin. The chin shows the definition of the face. You could also use her other hand instead, being sure not to show her palm. Although her pose is considered correct.

Good lighting/exposure, back lighting and pp!

These are just nit picky things. All in all a really solid set you can both be proud of.

A couple of thoughts - especially after the chunky comment

Always try to have space between the arms and her body. The negative space between will help to slim them. You can see this especially in the second and third images where her arms add to the width of her torso. In the second image I might have rotated her a bit more and asked her to hide her left arm and hand.

The difference in color between her face and hand definitely draws attention. I wonder how much of it is caused by the makeup she was wearing.

I think she may have been happier with the images had she chosen a different top. To me the pattern is a bit "busy" and hides her form rather than showing it off.

These days I am an armchair photographer of models (to keep my marriage) so take my comments for whatever they are worth...

I think the only things I've noticed have already been mentioned (CA, purple hands) but these are good. Nice set, Thrilla.

Thanks north

Thanks for the negative space comment. Those kind of things are in my brain while shooting I just need to use them more and make then 2nd nature. I think the hands are a combo of the difference from face makeup and the temp outside at the time.

Thanks for the comment sans. I really appreciate it.
