Nice find Stacy. Hard to find many of these guys anymore. Used to see quite a few sages south of Leadore, but not so many any more.

Yes, Mel it was taken the day before I posted it. They were giving me quite the show and I really enjoyed the opportunity to shoot it. I will probably head back out to take advantage of this while they are still going at it.

Sage Grouse are one of my vary favorite subjects, but finding opportunities to shoot them is never easy.

Well done, awesome shots

Tom, their was a dry creek ravine i was able to walk down to get close enough to shoot and get the captures. I was watching about 80+ bull Elk when I noticed these below me. I glassed from afar and chose to gamble and use my mono pod. Their was no wind so I was able to hold and get some great shots,The creek bed was perfect to stand in, and it left me just about 2 feet higher than the bank so it worked well and didn't seem to bother the birds at all. They turned out well or least I thought so. I was contacted from a magazine for this series and several more shots from earlier in the day. I truly love photographing these birds they can become almost memorizing.
