This is how I see your work, and how your work speaks to me. There is no right or wrong, only perspective.

Mark: Had this Z4 been red, yellow, bright orange (etc.) the comp would have really poped, but the deep blue color of the Z is just a bit too monochromatic and kind of just blends in with the corn stalks...which by the way looks great in mono.

teekay: Nice approach in bringing all of the blooms to life with color, and the black and white looks great, too.

Benitoite: I call this technique "extreme minimal selective color", took me a few nano seconds to locate that magic lottery ticket. I hope you got more frames of this subject, this scene appears ripe with composition possibilities. I also like you black and white, as well.

phil: A thoughtful testament of love; very nicely arranged and composed. What dropped you into the runner-up position for me was the green of the stem, which in my eyes kind of gave a "dull" effect to the other monochromatic elements.

darkslinger: I love the mono elements, I love the isolation and placement of the subject and I like the weighting of the entire frame. How dare this lone flower rise up, and bring color into an abyss of dark conformity. this is my type of anarchy, my type of chaos. You get a gold star AND you get to host the next challenge.

Don: Something tells me that this character deals from the bottom of the deck. I like this composition, and would probably like it even more in full mono. However, in this presentation there is just a bit too much color for my taste. I think the scarf alone would have appealed more to me.

Thank you for submitting.

jason
